South Dowling Sandwiches
Over the past few years, South Dowling Sandwiches has grown its family-run business into a Sydney-wide franchise that takes pride in its fresh and famed ingredients.
To cope with the growth of its stores and interest in online ordering/catering, they engaged our team to give their website and socials a fresh new look.

Brand Evolution
Transforming the Look of Australia's Favourite Sangas
As South Dowling Sandwiches grows with ambitions to become a nation-wide franchise, the founders looked to strengthen their visual identity and brand.
Our team was tasked with implementing a full rebrand across their online platforms, with strong focus on South Dowling Sandwiches' local history, sense of community and authenticity of its ingredients. We were heavily inspired by the colourful cross-sections of their sandwiches and fun nature of their staff, creating a bright and satisfying identity for the Aussie favourite.

Aligning as a Team
Our Website Project Scope
Being a small family-run business, South Dowling Sandwiches needed the website to be informative, low-cost and easy to maintain. In order to create such a small and effective website in a short time frame, our team identified three key requirements to build our foundations on:
Allow customers to see all the ingredients within a sandwich/salad so they're empowered to confidently choose the menu item of their liking
Educate potential and existing customers about the history, processes and people behind South Dowling Sandwiches, to build a deeper connection with the small business.
Educate potential and existing customers about the history, processes and people behind South Dowling Sandwiches, to build a deeper connection with the small business.

Camera Eats First
Creating a Drool-worthy Menu
Although our website scope emphasised the importance of South Dowling Sandwiches' history and corporate catering offerings, we knew most website visitors would navigate to the online menu.
When I worked on the menu design, I aimed to show, rather than tell. I also wanted to capitalise on the content the South Dowling team had previously produced to reduce the need for future content creation, and found that their cross-section sandwich photos perfectly visualised their menu items.
From the Client
We have customers come up to the window showing us the photo from the website's menu of what they want to order, rather than reading our physical menus or saying the names of items!
