Hey again, it’s Shelley! I’m a graphic and web designer who loves working with fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands to help them transform strategy into considered, human-centred design.
Over the past 7+ years, I’ve moved between freelance, in-house and agency teams, picking up a range of disciplines along the way – including graphic design, art direction, web design and CRO auditing. As a generalist at heart, I thrive at the intersection of research, strategy and craft, and find joy in designing creative across different brand touchpoints.
Outside of design, I love staying creative through dance, cooking and capturing everyday moments on endless rolls of film!

Understand the business, before you design for the brand
Design is fundamentally about communication and problem solving, so it’s important for me to have a clear understanding of a business’ priorities, pressures and ambitions to create something effective and scalable. These foundations are what builds visually stunning, yet purposeful design!

Take inspiration from everything, everywhere and everyone
My best ideas rarely come from competitor lists – but rather the things I’ve collected in my Instagram Saved, Bookmarks and camera roll over the years (I particularly love physical/analog mediums right now!). I try to keep exploring and noticing wherever I go because you never know what holds the answer to your next design problem.

Always keep learning and allow space for "I don't know"
While I have formal design training, most of what I know is self-taught. It’s how I built my craft, found my flow and formed my understanding of why things work the way they do. Not knowing something has never felt like a weakness to me, it only empowers me with something new to be curious about!
